Purpose
The purpose of this MOU is to establish a collaborative framework through which both parties agree to identify individuals who may benefit from medication management services. It sets a framework where collaboration between licensed mental health professionals and medication management providers can thrive by enhancing the coordination, quality, and reach of psychotherapy and mental health services. Both parties commit to maintaining high ethical standards, respecting client confidentiality (HIPAA compliance), and sharing resources, referrals, and clinical insights to improve client outcomes
Scope of Collaboration
Under this agreement, the Provider and Partner agree to:
• Promote mutual referrals to match client needs with therapist expertise, availability, or treatment modality.
• Share clinical perspectives and consult on complex cases (with appropriate client consent and confidentiality safeguards).
• Collaborate on community events, workshops, and continuing education opportunities as needed.
• Support one another’s professional development through periodic peer consultation or supervision sessions
Services Provided by the Provider
The following services will be offered:
• Psychiatric Evaluations (initial and follow-up)
• Prescription and Monitoring of Psychotropic Medications
• Ongoing Medication Adherence Support
• Coordination with Therapists and Other Healthcare Providers
• Resource Sharing Hub
• Referral Board
• Telehealth Services
• Clinical Supervision to Graduate Counselors
• Psychoeducation & Support Groups
Provider Responsibilities
• Respond Promptly to Referrals: Schedule initial consultations within 5 to 7 business days.
• Maintain Clear Communication: Provide updates while protecting client confidentiality.
• Peer Consultation: Participate in clinical consultations when requested.
• Collaborative Engagement: Co-host events or shared client interventions when appropriate.
Partner Responsibilities
• Send Referrals Thoughtfully: Refer clients to the Provider as appropriate.
• Share Pertinent Clinical Information: With consent, share relevant client information.
• Engage in Peer Consultation: Provide consultation when requested.
• Contribute to Mutual Growth: Collaborate on projects aligned with shared goals.
Confidentiality and Compliance
Both parties agree to uphold strict confidentiality of all client-related information and comply fully with HIPAA regulations and relevant ethical standards.
Duration and Termination
This MOU remains in effect until modified or terminated in writing by either party with 30 days’ written notice.
